We are swapping all single use items for cleaning such as reuseable washable and reusable sponges, microfiber cleaning cloths and coconut coir scourers. We will also stock 100% recycled toilet paper.
All our dish soap, laundry detergent and toiletries are made from natural and biodegradable products. This is healthier for your skin and environment. We want to connect with local supplies and small scale businesses to support their trade where possible.
Every property will have an air purifier that removes VOC (volatile organic compounds) and other pollutants in the air that may enter via windows from road traffic etc. We also have an essential oil diffuser that provides a natural fragrance such as lavender for sleep, jasmine for a mood boosts, lemon and peppermint for focus and freshness as well as eucalyptus for cleansing the lungs.
Organic fabrics without pesticides, insecticides and other toxins harmful to people and ecosystems will be prioritized in our accomodation.
Where possible we use natural materials such as no or low VOC wood like bamboo, coated in linseed oil.
When it's time for a repaint, we use limewash, an ancient mould resistant natural paint with a slight textured look and earthy feel.
We also want to prioritise natural stone and wooden floors, jute rugs etc. Some properties are in need however of a full eco-refurb to achieve our full goals for natural, non-toxic living.
Where this is not possible we do what we can to limit toxicity and unsustainable materials.
Though sometimes we have existing furniture such as sofas which we also don't want to buy buy buy new all the time, it's sustainable to make use of what's there to limit waste.
We have clearly defined waste management systems to you can easily recycle food waste, paper and cardboard, tins and glass.
We use electric blankets on our beds, this is a much more efficient way to stay warm on cold nights.
We also provide energy efficient appliances such as slow cookers where possible as well as energy efficient lightbulbs.
Reminding you to save water, recycle and limit electricity usage by switching off plugs and using dimmer lighting.
In the future we want to source land for food forests, community growing projects big and small. We love sustainable solutions like regenerative agriculture and want to be a part of building an abundant, resilient, growing future.
True value comes from soil fertility producing surplus food (energy converted into human action) which then is translated into economic value through currency in the market, therefore if we want a healthy growing economy it must be synonymous with a healthy growing ecosystem. Europe was once covered in temperate rain-forest, though our current system is now dependent on chemicalised mono-culture mass agriculture, though it has a huge role in providing food for our growing population, there are many alternative sustainable solutions to food production coming to light and growing in size and scale. This is a complex issue, but we want to be a part of building tomorrow and are always looking for new innovative solutions whether that be in the short term rental market, property refurbishment, sustainable developments or.... regenerative agriculture.
This is our WHY for building VALUE.
